1. $1075.00 for general fund
2. $2100.00 for community involvement
3. $7675.00 for education
4. Total: $10,850.00
5. Vote to accept budget: motioned by Kara Martin; all in favor.
7.  Communication- will take place through email, blog (linked to school website), Facebook Page, and monthly newsletter
8. Membership/donations- Membership is $5; those who prefer can donate a similar amount to PTA

Gearing up to go Back to School!

School is only one week away!  We are very excited for the 2014-15 school year and would like to let you know about some changes.

Heather Bruck is the room parent coordinator this year.  If you would like to volunteer before Back to School night to be a room parent, please email her at heather.bruck@gmail.com

Back to School Night is August 18th from 4 to 6.  The PTA will be in the main foyer, and we will be offering the following:

• Pre-sales and info on new activities for Hogwarts
• Information and raffle tickets for our September Fun Run
• Sign-ups for school choir
• Information on school arts programs (Reflections and a new school play!)
• School emergency kits available for purchase ($3.50 per kit)
  
• Sign-ups to volunteer for all our awesome PTA activities: Fun Run, Hogwarts, Reflections, Choir, Polar Express, Valentine's Dance, School Play, Teacher Appreciation, Field Day, and more!
• One-stop check-out for all the above--we will accept checks, cards (3% processing fee), or cash.  Come prepared!

The school will also be selling T-shirts and spirit sticks, and you can make lunch payments in the cafeteria.

Sage Hills PTA Board Meeting

August 12, 2014 – 9:00 am - Sage Hills Library

Attendance: Kara Martin, Dana Moore, Carissa Allen, Brady Rowley, Shiree Dome, Tyfani Balzotti, Manu Harris, Christie Esperson, Stephanie Watson

1.      Pledge of Allegiance

2.      Back to School

a.       Tables: Hogwarts (Dana); room parents (Heather); play (Tyfani); choir (Manu); emergency kits (Stephanie); fun run (Jamie); checkout, membership, donations, emails, volunteers (Kara, Christie?) + a couple floaters—3 tables and 9 chairs

b.      Volunteer forms for teachers (Heather)

c.       Hogwarts display case and chocolate frogs

                                                              i.      Dana will man Hogwarts table and set up display case

                                                            ii.      Kara will bring Hogwarts price sheet and 100 frogs cards

d.      Cash withdrawal needed

e.       Display note with needed positions

f.       Prize wheel, maybe cotton candy for Fun Run raffle tickets

3.      Room Parent Training: Sept 5^th in conference room

4.      2014 Budget- will be emailed to board members

5.      Fun Run

a.       City will try to waive $200 fee

b.      Donations: bike, Jump On It passes, Karate uniform and 1-year membership, Car Doctors; looking for more

c.       Tickets: $1 raffle—will use paper form with name, email, phone number; must be present to win

d.      Flier can go in teachers’ packets (to do this week)

e.       $50 fee to get an officer and barricades—approved by board

6.      Reflections

a.       Tyfani Balzotti will chair

b.      Initial deadline: October 1^st

c.       Awards ceremony and choir concert: October 27^th 7:00

d.      Will be spotlighted at assembly on November 10

e.       Artwork can be displayed in the library

7.      Hogwarts-  meeting on August 27^th 12:30 at Kara’s house

8.      Choir

a.       Manu Harris will be director

b.      Sign-ups due by Sept 22^nd ; practice will be Mondays 2:45-4:00 starting Sept 8

a.       Shiree will talk to Ashley Keith about boxtops

10.  Calendar: Future PTA Meetings

a.       Will take place Mondays 12:30-1:15 so more teachers can join in

Meeting Minutes- July 2014

Sage Hills PTA Board Meeting

July 9 2014 - 11:00 am - Kara Martin’s House

Attendance:  Kara Martin, Dana Moore, Jamie Child, Heather Bruck, Stephanie Watson

1.      Fun Run

a.       Committee: Jamie Child, Chelsea Anderson, Christie Espersen, Manu Harris

b.      Run start times will be staggered every 30 minutes (7:30, 8, 8:30, 9)

c.       Waffle truck arrives at 7; will donate 10% of profits to PTA.  Jamie will ask them to limit options for speedier service

d.      Temporary permit from city is $200- Kara will see if that can be reduced

e.       Raffle tickets will be presold on back to school night

i.        Joni Luke may have tickets

ii.      Price TBD based on items donated ($5 vs. $1)

2.      Back to School

a.       We will have tables in the foyer (possibly extending into gym if needed); each table will have all needed forms information but there will be a check-out table where payments for everything PTA will be made

b.      Hogwarts table- Dana to supervise?  Will include presales, chocolate frog cards, and display case

c.       Room parents table- Heather to supervise

d.      Choir table- May need new director?

e.       Play table- Tyfani to supervise

f.       Emergency kits- Stephanie to supervise

g.      Fun run- Jamie to supervise

h.      Email and volunteer sign-ups; membership/donations, and check-out: Kara (with Chelsea to help?)

3.      Summer mailer: if school is sending one, piggy-back with them.  Include list of year’s activities, email form, Hogwarts info, available PTA positions

4.      Hogwarts

a.       Assembly for Hogwarts kick-off: Sept 22?

b.      Possible activity addition: Owlery (students can send owl-shaped Val-O-Grams, possibly see a real owl)

c.       Shops: will have 3-5 choices each for treats, tricks, dark arts; there will also be a “grab bag” choice for each

d.      Shops will need 27 volunteers (3 people x 3 shops x 3 hours)

5.      PTA audit for 2013-2014 year completed
