Sage Hills PTA Board Meeting

August 12, 2014 – 9:00 am - Sage Hills Library

Attendance: Kara Martin, Dana Moore, Carissa Allen, Brady Rowley, Shiree Dome, Tyfani Balzotti, Manu Harris, Christie Esperson, Stephanie Watson

1.      Pledge of Allegiance

2.      Back to School

a.       Tables: Hogwarts (Dana); room parents (Heather); play (Tyfani); choir (Manu); emergency kits (Stephanie); fun run (Jamie); checkout, membership, donations, emails, volunteers (Kara, Christie?) + a couple floaters—3 tables and 9 chairs

b.      Volunteer forms for teachers (Heather)

c.       Hogwarts display case and chocolate frogs

                                                              i.      Dana will man Hogwarts table and set up display case

                                                            ii.      Kara will bring Hogwarts price sheet and 100 frogs cards

d.      Cash withdrawal needed

e.       Display note with needed positions

f.       Prize wheel, maybe cotton candy for Fun Run raffle tickets

3.      Room Parent Training: Sept 5^th in conference room

4.      2014 Budget- will be emailed to board members

5.      Fun Run

a.       City will try to waive $200 fee

b.      Donations: bike, Jump On It passes, Karate uniform and 1-year membership, Car Doctors; looking for more

c.       Tickets: $1 raffle—will use paper form with name, email, phone number; must be present to win

d.      Flier can go in teachers’ packets (to do this week)

e.       $50 fee to get an officer and barricades—approved by board

6.      Reflections

a.       Tyfani Balzotti will chair

b.      Initial deadline: October 1^st

c.       Awards ceremony and choir concert: October 27^th 7:00

d.      Will be spotlighted at assembly on November 10

e.       Artwork can be displayed in the library

7.      Hogwarts-  meeting on August 27^th 12:30 at Kara’s house

8.      Choir

a.       Manu Harris will be director

b.      Sign-ups due by Sept 22^nd ; practice will be Mondays 2:45-4:00 starting Sept 8

9.      PTA Contact info/Available positions

a.       Shiree will talk to Ashley Keith about boxtops

b.      New volunteer coordinator needed

10.  Calendar: Future PTA Meetings

a.       Will take place Mondays 12:30-1:15 so more teachers can join in

b.      Schedule available on “Save the Date” letter

11.  Minutes/Newsletter

a.       Add to blog; email to board when meeting reminder goes out

b.      Stephanie motioned to accept minutes; Dana seconded; all voted in favor
